Spain Fines Low-Cost Airlines!!
I couldn’t help thinking about a recent MuchoHop video where I shared how furious I was with my check-in experience on Volotea. I have nothing against Volotea, but I felt like something that was going to be so easy, my online check-in, was taking forever, and then some.
When I was trying to get my boarding passes new windows kept opening up, one after another, on my computer screen, asking if I had booked my seat, carry-on luggage, and numerous other things that kept distracting me from what I was there to do, check in.
Enough, let me finish already!
And now I read that Spain is fining four low-cost airlines €150 MILLION over abusive practices like charging for a cabin bag or wanting an adjacent seat when traveling with a companion or a minor.
These airlines are Ryanair, EasyJet, Volotea, and Vueling.
Yesssss, they are abusive, even for someone who has flown hundreds of times on Ryanair and several on EasyJet, Volotea, and Vueling. I know them all too well.
But even so, I check every detail with a fine-toothed comb to ensure I am paying for things I actually want and not things I’ve been suckered into paying.
I’m excited to see whether my check-in experience will be different the next time I book a flight on these budget airlines. Maybe nothing will change. I am curious to see what I find and eager to share my experience with my Hoppers!
